Online teen therapy in California

Being a teenager is hard. Teen therapy offers a safe, nonjudgmental place to sort through big feelings, school and social pressure, and growing up, with support for parents along the way.

What teens often bring to therapy

  • Anxiety, worry, or feeling overwhelmed.
  • Low mood, low self-esteem, or trouble with self-image.
  • School stress and academic pressure.
  • Friendships, belonging, and social pressure.
  • Identity, and figuring out who they are.
  • Conflict at home, family changes, or life transitions.
  • Body image concerns.

A collaborative, relational approach

Therapy with a teen starts with trust. Sessions are collaborative and relational: your teen sets the pace, and the focus is on building coping skills, self-understanding, and confidence in a space where they feel respected.

Parents and guardians matter too. We'll talk about how to involve you in a way that supports your teen, and how confidentiality works, including its limits, so everyone knows what to expect from the start.

What to expect

Start with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation with a parent or guardian to talk about what's going on and whether we're a good fit. Sessions are held by video, which many teens find familiar and convenient. Evening appointments are available.

Common questions

How much will you share with parents?

At the start of therapy we explain how confidentiality works, including its limits, so your teen and the adults in their life know what to expect.

Can parents be involved?

Yes. We'll talk about how to include parents and guardians in a way that supports your teen, which may include check-ins or family sessions.

What if my teen doesn't want to come?

That's common. A short consultation is a low-pressure way to meet, and building trust at your teen's pace is part of the work.

Do you offer family sessions too?

Yes. Family therapy is available, and you can read more on our family therapy page.
